Paul Cannon, is from the Waipuk clan – Mountain King Snake clan which is part of what’s known today as the Kumeyaay nation. Cannon wrote the popular tune, “Love Your Life,” a song that depicts the struggles of Native Americans living in a modern western society. Paul’s holistic approach to spirit, family, friends and nature creates a family-oriented and culturally diverse musical experience that encompasses musical styles of Native Americana, folk, soul, r&b, pop, rock, hip hop and reggae.
Cannon’s accomplishments include writing the San Diego Padre theme song – “Homegrown (Padre's Version)” and have been acknowledged and nominated for a Native American Music Award (equivalent to a Grammy) for their song ‘Love Life’.
